We get it. Emergencies happen. Traffic can be terrible. Kids get sick. We try to be flexible with families and work around busy schedules. Equally, Tungsten Prep is built around the philosophy that successful tutoring is a partnership based on goodwill, great communication, and mutual accountability.
Tungsten Prep tutors put their heart and soul into supporting each student. They spend substantial time preparing for sessions, build their daily schedule around time with your son or daughter, and use the money they earn to support their own dreams of becoming scientists, professors, writers or entrepreneurs.
For that reason, families must cancel sessions with tutors at least 24-hours before a scheduled session’s start time. Late cancellations will be charged at the full rate for tutoring. In the case of true emergencies, this policy may be waived in consultation with Business Manager and Outreach Coordinator Sheena Martin (firstname.lastname@example.org). Tutors cannot waive our cancellation policy.
We value our families and respect that tutoring is an investment, so we do not take this policy lightly. We find that students who schedule their own sessions are the most likely to cancel, so we ask parents to explain our cancellation policy to their sons and daughters so that they can plan their schedule accordingly.
Payment for Services
We only accept credit card for payment of services. You will be asked to enter your credit card into a secure portal during our intake process. We are unable to access your credit card number. You will be charged at the conclusion of each tutoring session for the full, scheduled session. This will automatically generate an email invoice that will be sent to the email address on file.
Urgent Tutoring Requests
Our goal is to provide quality tutoring services that meet individual needs and timetables. Students sometimes have last-minute tutoring needs. We seek out multi-talented tutors so always feel free to contact your existing tutor and see if they’re able to help. If that isn’t possible, we endeavor to respond to existing families’ urgent requests for tutoring in a new subject as soon as possible, especially when they are placed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. We ask new families to give us at least one business day to set up new tutoring arrangements.
We are committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of any personal data that we collect in the course of doing business. We collect only that information that is necessary to perform our company’s functions and provide service to families.
We will not disclose any personal data or other information about your student’s individual situation without your permission. In the instance that you wish us to speak with a teacher, school or college counselor or other professionals, please contact us and request a release form. A student’s parent or guardian must sign this form before we will discuss his or her situation with anyone outside Tungsten Prep.
