Covid-19 Health and Safety
In-Person Tutoring Program
The health and safety of our team and the families we serve continues to be our top priority. COVID-19 remains a potential long-term threat. The long-term efficacy of CDC-approved vaccines remains under study, and it is not known whether these vaccines will be effective against future possible COVID-19 variants. This is an ever-changing situation, and we will continue to abide by CDC guidelines as they become available.
To mitigate the transmission of illness, families who participate in our in-person academic tutoring and test prep program agree to adhere to the following protocols:
- Household members aged 12 and over who are present during tutoring sessions must be fully vaccinated.
- Household members present in the home will wear masks at all times in the presence of a Tungsten Prep tutor.
- A parent or guardian must be available when tutoring takes place in a home.
- Tutoring should occur in an open room with ventilation with the tutor and student sitting at a clear, open working space. Surfaces should be disinfected before tutoring starts.
Before the tutor’s arrival, your tutor will ask you to confirm the following before tutoring can begin by text or telephone call:
- No one in the household is suffering from or has signs of fever, chills, cough, congestion, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, fatigue, headache, body aches, loss of taste or smell or other symptoms of not feeling well.
- No one in the household has been in contact with a person who has COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
- No one in the household has traveled outside the United States in the last 14 days.
Your Tungsten Prep tutor agrees to these same safety protocols.
Additionally, whenever possible, our tutors would appreciate:
- Weather permitting, windows should be opened.
- Availability of an outdoor space for tutoring.
- Availability of hand sanitizer and wipes for tutor/student use.
Please contact our Parent Outreach Coordinator Sheena Martin (sheena@tungstenprep.com) if you have any questions.
